Who We Are
Are you as alarmed as we are by recent assaults on reproductive rights? Then you’re one of us. Roe v. Wade 2.0 is a troupe of artists and allies dedicated to the idea that theater plays a vital role in political discourse.
We hold these truths to be self-evident:
— that a handful of Justices have no right to tell women and pregnant people what they can and cannot do with their bodies.
— that the Roberts Court, aided and abetted by Mitch McConnell's congressional brinkmanship, has made a mockery of the Supreme Court's judicial integrity.
— that the power of the people always triumphs over the tyranny of bigots and bullies, provided we stir up what John Lewis calls “good trouble, necessary trouble.”
The Week of Action surrounding readings of Roe v. Wade 2. 0 is just the beginning. Going forward, our coalition of theater artists will partner with lawyers and doctors and journalists and grassroots activists like you, forging an intersectional coalition of reproductive rights warriors. Together, we’ll keep stirring up “good trouble” until we take back our country—and our bodies—once and for all.
